From the Fall Sale Manager...

Council will be conducting online training via zoom. You can participate in any of the following:
  • Tues Sep 8 12 noon Troop Kick-Off Meeting
  • Thur Sep 10 6:00 pm Troop Kick-Off Meeting
  • Sat Sep 12 10:00 am Troop Kick-Off Meeting
August 24th - Volunteer Meeting:

Why participate?
  • The Fall Product Program is a great way for girls to exercise their entrepreneurial skills and for troops to earn money - the profit margin is 20%!
  • The Take Action Program is offering girls the opportunity to learn about and contribute to the conservation of the pygmy three-toed sloth.
  • If you want to do additional money-earning activities, you must participate in both the Fall Product Program as well as Cookies Sales. For details about requirements, contact Mardi Hanou.

Vendors
  • The good news is that we're reverting from the vendor we used the last couple of  years, Trophy Nut, back to Ashdon Farms!
  • We will, however, still be using the M2 website for sales and reporting.

Sales
Girls can sell any or all of the following:
  • Nuts and candy
  • Magazine subscriptions
  • Care to Share
There are two ways to sell:
  • in-person
    • as long as girls observe social distancing guidelines, they can take orders from neighbors, and after the product has arrived, they can take a wagon around their community, or have a "Nut & Candy Stand" on their own property
  • online through M2
There will be NO Booth Sales and NO Cupboard (as was the case last year). That means you'll have to include all the product you're planning to sell in your  Order on10/25.

Training

Hopefully, you've received an Engagement Kit by now containing
  • Volunteer postcard - 1per Troop
  • Mint Treasure samples - 10 per Troop
  • Girl Order Cards - 10 per Troop
  • M2 flyers - 10 per Troop
(if you need extra materials, contact me)
***The kit may have been sent to another adult in your troop, so check with them, and if none of you have received a kit by Sunday, Aug. 30, let me know and I will have Council send you one.
From Council...

8/20/20
Good Afternoon Troop Volunteers,

Hoping this message finds you and your loved ones safe, cool, and healthy. We’re ramping up to kickoff the 2020 Fall Take Action Program! We are sending this to all troops and service units who received a direct shipment of troop engagement kits for the program.

All troop adults are invited to join us to “Bravely Be You” and “Trust Your Strengths” in our virtual 2020 Fall Take Action Program Troop Kickoffs in September hosted by GSNorCal. Get a sneak peek of what we have planned by exploring our website and our program overview video. Please register for one of the following dates at the links below to receive Zoom login information for the event, and feel free to share with the rest of the supportive adults in your troop:
  • September 8 @ 12pm
  • September 10 @ 6pm
  • September 12 @ 10am

We hope you have received engagement kit in the mail by now that included Mint Treasures. We were aware of the melting risk when we included them in the shipments, though including ice packs in each was cost prohibitive. To be honest, we weren’t anticipating triple digit temperatures but have heard from girls that the treats have the same yummy minty taste after some time in the freezer. We’re using this as a learning opportunity as we navigate our programming in our socially-distanced world, because taking risks and learning from mistakes are lessons we instill in our girls. We will have more treats available when you pick up a local retail curbside pickup order in September (while supplies last).

We’re also in the last couple weeks of pre-orders for our cute sloth tee (see picture below) to wear alongside Girl Scout sisters of all ages for our Virtual Fall Digital Day on October 3rd. The last day to place an order is September 6th, so be sure to nudge your girls to get theirs now, or place an order for your troop!
